Tintable Tales (Tint, Shade & Draw) is an exciting new series from Sarah Innins. It features picture books which have been converted into clean black & white line-drawings accompanied by the original text. This creates an unusual and entertaining story/activity book combo which celebrates and stimulates the power of imagination and the development of artistic skills. Kids can tint the comic-style illustrations, shade the blank backgrounds, and add extra drawings to create their own unique copy of the book.

The size of this book has been enlarged to 8.5” x 11” and extra pages have been inserted. The illustrations are printed on one side of the page only. Tinting and shading tips are included in the book and on sarahinnins.com/tintingtips. Children from 5 to 8 will enjoy this book, and it may also appeal to arty tweens and teens.

THE STORY: Grandma’s Spooky Stories is a light-hearted rhyming story featuring a familiar cast of creepy characters. It shows how our imaginations can get overactive, especially in the dark!

Four young cousins are staying at their grandparent’s house on a stormy night when a lightning strike plunges the house into darkness. Grandma mischievously entertains them with her absurd spooky stories. In the darkness, imaginations start working overtime. Thought bubbles show what each cousin is imagining, and extra pages have been inserted so that kids can add their own drawings too showing what they imagine. Tension builds in the story. Can Grandma’s stories be true? Is the bogeyman real? What is under Grandma’s bed? Who is knocking on the front door? AAAGH!! Thankfully, sensible Grandad calms everyone down before bedtime.
